Multifamily and whole buildings

Apartments, condominiums, whole buildings: send us the plans. Send the drawings, the unit plans or the mechanical schedule. We’ll match every vent across every unit type, confirm it with you, and send one invoice for the whole building.

Send us your plans or email sales@hifivent.com.

One detail, every unit

A building repeats its unit types floor after floor, and every vent repeats with them. Choose the detail once, as part of the design, and it holds in every unit, from the model apartment to the last unit handed over.

The range works as one system across the building: round, square and linear vents that connect directly to round duct, register faces that fit a square or rectangular register boot, high-velocity outlets, and custom sizes and patterns wherever the drawing needs something else.

Why it suits multifamily

  • Painted with the wall. The plaster-in flange is finished into the ceiling or wall and painted with it, so the room shows the opening and no frame. Every unit gets the same detail.
  • Removable faces for cleaning and access. On magnetic removable models, the grille lifts out for cleaning and access while the frame stays finished into the surface. A practical detail for turnover and building maintenance. Fixed models stay in place.
  • Standard and custom sizes. HiFi offers a standard catalog of sizes and patterns, along with custom options for project-specific requirements. One unit type needs an odd size or connection? Tell us what you need and we’ll make it fit.
  • Connects directly to the duct. In the units, vents sit in finished ceilings and walls and connect directly to the duct: direct-connect models join 4, 5 or 6-inch round duct with no boot in between. Where the design uses register boots, register faces fit the boot. Rough-in models go in while the framing is open; push-through models go into a surface that is already finished.
  • Timing. Orders typically ship within 2-3 weeks. Rush orders are available if your schedule is tight.

How a building project works

  1. Plans in. Send the drawings, the unit plans, the mechanical schedule or a rough count by unit type, in any format. A partial set is fine; we’ll ask about anything we need.
  2. Schedule back. We send back a vent schedule for the building: every opening matched to an exact product and option, grouped by unit type, with any questions. We’ll help with product drawings for the set.
  3. Confirm. Your team reviews the schedule and tells us what to change. Nothing is ordered until you confirm it.
  4. One order, one invoice. We send one invoice for the whole building. Once it’s paid, the order goes into production.
  5. Phased delivery, if you need it. Building in phases? Tell us the sequence and we’ll coordinate deliveries by phase, building or floor.

For everyone on the project

  • Developers and owners. Every vent in the building from one place, one invoice, and the same finish in every unit.
  • Architects and interior designers. One detail, specified once and repeated across every unit type. Start with room ideas in the lookbook, or see how architects specify HiFi.
  • GCs and mechanical subs. The connection matched to each opening, deliveries coordinated with the construction schedule, and installation guides and videos by product family. More on the HVAC pros page.
