High-velocity outlets are a separate collection from conventional ducted products. Do not mix the two on a specification because the room looks similar in a photograph. The exact model and connection have to match the mechanical design.

Connection, angle, and installation stage

Make these three choices separately. Straight versus 90-degree describes the outlet configuration. Clamp versus a system-specific twist connection describes how the outlet joins the duct. Rough-in versus push-through describes when it is installed. A product that is right on one axis can still be wrong on the others. Geometry varies by model; do not assume every high-velocity outlet shares the same internal form.

A six-item specification checklist

Record the checklist on the drawing and in the bid. A finish schedule without a connection, or a connection without a cavity depth, is how the wrong variant lands on site. The mechanical designer owns the airflow number; HiFi supplies the outlet that matches the selected model.

1. Product and variant — the catalog item and the exact configuration being ordered.
2. Connection — the duct join required by the system, taken from the model, not from a family name.
3. Airflow requirement — supplied by the mechanical designer for that outlet location.
4. Finish and cavity — surface, thickness, and the depth available behind it.
5. Access and sequence — fixed or removable, rough-in or push-through, and who finishes the flange.
6. Quantities and schedule — counts by location and when they need to arrive.

There is no blanket compatibility across high-velocity brands or duct sizes. Round dimension alone does not decide the part.
